Tips to Create Your Own Flash Animations for Cell Phones without ActionScript

Many creative projects can be achieved using Flash CS3, however flash's proprietary programming language ActionScript is feared by most flash page designers, particularly for animation purposes.
But, there's a very good solution for this problem. With the help of the Adobe Device Central CS3, the Illustrator and our very own Flash CS3, you can create some very nice animation that can be played in any cell phone. What's more, you don't need ActionScript at all! Here's a step by step guide to create animations for cell phone:

• Device central works as a simulation playground and enlists various profiles and display sizes to suit your inclusive cell phones. Just select the appropriate design for your animation.
• The next step is to integrate the illustrator document with flash. For this you need to create a new document. You can then take the advantage of various features like symbols, layers and blends in illustrator that will help you to integrate, edit and animate with flash.
• Create two artworks as symbols in illustrator and use the blend option to blend the objects. You can then export the illustrator artwork to Flash SWF. Click on file>export>flash (swf). Ignore all default settings in the large dialog box that opens. Click on the advanced button and select the animate blends and just export as SWF.
• Set the flash workspace. Make sure you have made the correct settings for the document size and flash Lite. The imported SWF should also have correct frame and timeline settings. You can also import more animation elements from illustrator using the above methods.
• The final step is setting the motion path and tween for the imported artwork and previewing it on the simulated cell phone to test the animation quality.
• A flash page designer should also try using the above tips on his web page animation project. However, there is slight doubt whether these tips can work for your Macromedia flash web design . Still try it!
