How to Modify Simple Graphics in Flash CS4

With these tools you can modify the shapes and curves of graphics, change their color, resize them, and assign new attributes. Making a selection can be done in two ways: clicking an element directly and enclosing an element with a selection outline. If you choose the first option, you can Shift-click multiple items to a selection. You can also click additional items thereby adding to a selection. Setting preferences for these methods is also possible.  
In professional flash website design, the lasso tool comes in handy while selecting oddly shaped elements or in situations where you cannot use the selection rectangle. The mouse button can highlight and select merge-shapes that are inside the selection outline. Enclosing primitives and drawing-objects in lasso selection outline is determined by contact-sensitivity of the tool. Its setting can be changed by clicking on the preferences dialog.
The subselection tool is used to modify shapes of graphics. In professional flash design, this tool helps in manipulating a path's anchor points. The anchor points can be repositioned for changing a path and a point's Bézier handles can be manipulated thereby enabling you to modify the depth and slope of a curve. Adding and deletion of points or converting existing corner points to curve points or the other way round can be done using the pen tool or the three anchor-point tools.
